Sambija Music Studio
(“Sambija” = “Universal Seed”)
The name of my studio and sanctuary, Sambija, captures the essence of my studio. My studio is intended to be a portal for music and art creation that comes from the very essence of the fabric of space; From the universal potential that lies in the emptiness of space. It seeks to manifest from the infinite potential which lies in a small seed and in fact in all points in space, a beautiful, unique, harmonious creation from our dreams and visions. We each carry this ever sprouting seed of creation at our core...

My Personal Gear:
All mics, instruments, hardware, cases, etc. are very high studio grade, professional equipment.
I have too many items to name them all specifically, but I use a wide range of percussion instruments from around the world. I have an extensive battery of percussion instruments. I’ve made customizations on much of my gear. Some of it is completely fabricated by me, and some of it is new to the world and invented by me. I innovate my gear, usually from a need bases.
I will list only some of the gear I use in various multi-percussion arrangements. I mix and match gear to create a multi-percussion set that is crafted specifically for whatever project I am working on. I’m to the point now that I have most the gear needed to set up and mic any rig however I need, and everything is easily transportable for gigs. All gear has been customized or frabricated for maximum adjustability and versatility. If I ever need something new I fabricate as needed.
Here is a partial list of my instruments:
Pearl Export Poplar 5 piece Drumset
Various Snare Drums (6)
Many cymbals from various companies depending on the project. (~70)
Drum Skull Djembes with custom djembe stand (30
Professional Doumbeks (5)
West African 3 Dun Dun set with 3 Bell Set and stands for ballet style or traditional style playing
A ton of shakers of all types. (Some are homemade)
A ton of hand percussion, wood blocks, guiros, tambourines, bells, jingles, chimes, and other rack mountable and table mountable percussion
Percussion tables (custom, homemade, portable, better than anything I’ve ever seen in function and aesthetic)
Large Calabash with custom portable table
