Biography

Greetings. I am Jacob McElderry. I am a multi-talented, eclectic person. I am experienced, skilled, and knowledgeable at many things. I apply an integrated approach to problem solving and creation, applying my extensive and varying knowledge into every problem.

Though I am formally schooled as a physicist, I am extensively experienced and knowledgeable at a professional level in various other areas. I am a musician, composer, producer, sound engineer, multi-percussionist, and bandmate. ..........................................................................

I have been making music in bands since I committed my self to music in 1995. I have been in many bands and have spent thousands of hours devoted to the practice of my musical instruments, and countless more hours studying, tinkering, building, and dreaming my dreams into reality. I've built my own home studio. I build and customize instruments that I use and sell. I have studied sound engineering and have dedicated myself to the craft of sound design in building and setting up my instruments and also in the sound engineering process.

When I create any system, I always keep in mind aesthetics, function, efficiency, adjustability, versatility, ease of packing and transport, etc... I am extremely thorough and detail oriented. I am very technically minded while also being very creative, fluid, and open. I am a balanced blend of a rational and artistic personality, with a large flair of humor, philosophy, and universal thinking on the side.

He professionally applies his critical ear in sound texturing and arrangement with the highest quality tools from around the world such as Drumset, Djembe, Dun Duns, Darbuka (Doumbek), Congas, Bongos, Auxillary Percussion (Shakers, Wood Blocks, Bells, etc…), Synth Percussion, and Kalimba. He applies these tools multidimensionally through fractal phrasing, polyrhythms, metric modulation, and looping. He is versed in many styles of music and easily applies his imagination in a world fusion of sound. 

He is a theoretical physicist with a deep perspective on spirituality and how it relates to physics, the self, the interconnectedness of everything. He is currently making discoveries in theoretical physics, which further The Unified Field Theory. He applies this perspective at every moment to everything he does.

Other skills/talents/careers/experiences/interests I have are fine wood/metal work and construction building........

I have built many things... houses, fine wood work items, instruments, etc...

I have extensive experience working in education as a college physics professor and as a K-12 and collegiate professional math science teacher and tutor. I also have experience as a percussion teacher both one-on-one and in groups, both in various private and public settings.
